I don't want to leave Berkeley thinking the same way that I did when I came in. The diversity at UC Berkeley is important to my overall education because it prepares me to serve others. -Claire Doran, 3rd Year Undergraduate Student
When I first got to Cal, I wasn't academically prepared; I was homesick; I couldn't connect with anyone; and I felt like a fish out of water. Joining Gamma Zeta Alpha, a Latino fraternity, gave me lots of support to overcome challenges. It was really helpful to belong to a group of people with similar background and experiences who supported each other's goals and expected greatness from each other. We still continue our friendships out of college and support one another. -Jose Luis Ramirez, Jr.,c/o1998
